Echoes of the Pleistocene: Comparing the megafaunal ecosystems of Central Yakutia and Mexico

Paleontology
Yakutia vs. Mexico: 9,000 kilometers apart and one great mystery. Why did the ancient giants disappear?

Did you dream of excavations and great discoveries as a child? It's time to make that dream come true! We're launching a paleontological research project. We're looking for "sleuths" ready to compare the facts about the life and disappearance of megafauna in two polar regions of the world—frigid Yakutia and sunny Mexico. Join our team of Ice Age detectives!
Field Excavations
During our investigation, you will discover:
  • How did the climate and landscapes of different continents change the appearance of animals?
  • Why do the preservation conditions of findings in these regions differ so much?
  • And most importantly: what exactly wiped the giants off the face of the Earth?
Choosing this project will allow you to master the methods of field research at fossil sites, develop your curiosity and imagination, unleash your creativity, and take a fascinating journey into the mysterious world of the Ice Age.
